PROJECT UPDATE - August 28, 2017
It is now Summer of 2017, and we have set a date of September 21, 2017 for the unveiling of the statue in Meeks Park, Blairsville, GA. Thanks to so many of you for helping in our fundraising efforts to get the statue completed! Your support has been amazing!!!
Ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Meeks Park. The amazing statue is in place, and the unveiling will be taking place during this ceremony.
Thanks so much to Daniel Horsechief for the statue and for getting it to Union County this week. Also, we want to say a big Thank You to Colwell Construction Company in Blairsville, Georgia for the huge rock and getting it in place to be the base for the statue!!!
We want to give a HUGE thanks to all the local restaurants who participated in our restaurant fundraiser back in July of this year. That was a tremendous community event that helped us out so much. The participating restaurants were: Michaelees, Copelands, Cabin Coffee, Papa's Pizza, Mike's Seafood, The View Grill, Blimpie's, and Huddle House.
Also, Chick-Fil-A Blairsville and Daniel Liberatore allowed us to hold two fundraiser nights there this summer, and both of those were a tremendous success.
We also want to thank House of Prayer Church for providing some accommodations for the statue unveiling event coming up.
Huge thank you also to Clayton Reeves, with Full Throttle Ministries, for providing several meals to feed hundreds of people for our statue unveiling event coming up.
Please check out this promo trailer for a documentary being put together by Mark Williams of Oklahoma. The documentary should be complete sometime after the unveiling of the statue this year.
